In March 2026, Hart Clinical Consultants (HCC) celebrated its 15th anniversary. Reaching this milestone has given us an opportunity to reflect on the lessons we've learned, the relationships we've built, and the principles that continue to guide our work.

Over the years, we have absorbed countless lessons from sponsors, investigators, research sites, and industry colleagues. I hope those lessons have translated into operational processes that allow us to engage more effectively with our clients while providing the practical, real-world perspective that emerging MedTech companies need to succeed.

Starting a company is no small undertaking, which naturally raises the question: Why?

The answer is both simple and complex.

When I founded HCC, my vision was to create an organization grounded in strong clinical principles and deep clinical research expertise. I wanted to build a company where best practices could be explored, shared, and applied, and where the benefits of more than 25 years of industry experience could be brought directly to innovators working to improve patientcare.

With a foundation in both clinical medicine and clinical research, I believed HCC could offer a unique perspective to founders, inventors, and entrepreneurs developing novel medical devices and pioneering innovative procedures. These innovators are tackling some of healthcare's most challenging treatment questions, and they deserve partners who understand both the science and the realities of clinical development.

Equally important, I wanted to create an environment built around people who share a passion for excellence and a genuine desire to help others succeed. From the beginning, our goal has been to cultivate a team committed to sharing industry best practices and delivering operational support that reflects the highest standards of quality and professionalism.

The bottom line is this:

I did not start a CRO because the world needed another vendor. I launched HCC because MedTech founders needed a partner who speaks both "clinical" and "clinical research."

That philosophy continues to define who we are.

Our focus on small and emerging medical device companies has allowed us to compete successfully with much larger organizations. We have earned opportunities not because we follow a rigid, one-size-fits-all model, but because we bring flexibility, creativity, and experience to every engagement.

Our collective experience encourages us to think differently. We tailor solutions to the specific needs of each client, consider agile approaches when appropriate, and focus on practical execution rather than bureaucracy. As a result, HCC has become known not only as a trusted clinical partner, but also as a sound business partner.

Because we remain focused and responsive, we can treat each project with the care and urgency it deserves. We can rapidly evaluate protocol modifications, address operational challenges, and validate critical deliverables in days rather than weeks. Our clients benefit from direct access to experienced professionals who understand that speed, quality, and efficiency are not mutually exclusive.

Fifteen years later, our mission remains unchanged.

HCC was built by founders, for founders.

We believe there is always an opportunity to improve how clinical trials are conducted. By emphasizing operational proficiency, efficiency, and practical problem-solving, we help sponsors complete studies on time, within budget, and with confidence in the quality of the work being performed.

If we remain true to these principles, then the original vision that inspired HCC will continue to be realized. More importantly, we can take pride in being part of an organization that is helping raise the standard for clinical research excellence and supporting the innovators who are shaping the future of healthcare.

As we look toward the next chapter, we remain grateful to our clients, partners, investigators, research sites, and employees who have contributed to this journey. Your trust and collaboration have made the last 15 years possible, and we are excited about what lies ahead.
